I cannot let this day go by without paying tribute to one of my most favorite mentors and authors, Louise Hay. My heart feels very sad AND very grateful for this beautiful woman. Last night I broke down in tears when I heard of her passing. The tears were not really of sadness, but tears of immense gratitude. Louise changed my life, and I don’t say that lightly. Not only did she change my life for the better, she changed the world.
It is quite ironic that I read of her passing while down in my sewing room. The very same space that I used to listen to her cassette tapes (that I would check out from the public library) while sewing. The information she shared just rang true to me, and still does. My husband and I would listen to the tapes, read her books and then discuss what we learned. She helped my husband and I start changing our thoughts. We didn’t realize how negative we were. Where would I be without her? Where would my children be without her? It was because of her that my husband and I have been able to break so many negative generational patterns and not pass them onto our kids.
What a pioneer she was. She published her first book, Heal Your Body, in 1976 (at age 50) long before it was fashionable to discuss the connection between the mind and body. My family literally went through several of those little paperback books, because they were so frequently used. I still use this book and refer all my clients to it. If you don’t know much about her, I encourage you to seek her work out and read her books!!
Here is a nice tribute and a little more information on the Hayhouse website.
I am so glad she was able to transition while in her sleep. If I am correct, I do believe I remember her talking about affirming that she would peacefully pass while sleeping.
Another one of my mentors, Nick Ortner, from the tapping solution, paid special tribute to Louise by guiding us through a tapping session on grief. You can view and listen to it here.
This is another link of Nick and Louise chatting about tapping (EFT) that I love.
I feel so VERY blessed, and oh so lucky to have had her in my life.
You will NOT be forgotten! I LOVE YOU LOUISE and thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me and the rest of the world change for the better.
