The holiday season is upon us and before things get too crazy, here is a fun little project you could whip up in no time. These Christmas stockings can be made with scraps you have in your sewing stash, or used some of your upcycled sweaters.
I pulled out a pattern I had designed way back in 1995, and thought I would try making a few using my recycled sweater stash. Instead of just using just one sweater, I worked something out for a pieced stocking. This is what I came up with.
You could really have fun embellishing them with some cute trims, laces, and buttons. If you are feeling ambitious, you could embroider the kids names on them.
This would be a great project for the young beginner seamstresses.
This pattern works well with woven fabrics as well (denim, corduroy, cotton and cotton blends).
